Online M.Sc fees in India 2026: every university compared
Online M.Sc fees at 14 universities, from ₹55,000 to ₹2,99,000 for the two-year programme.
Most online M.Sc programmes are in Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics or a related subject, because lab-based sciences are generally not taught online. The full two-year fee ranges from ₹55,000 for Mangalayatan’s M.Sc in Mathematics to ₹2,99,000 for O.P. Jindal’s M.Sc in International Accounting & Finance. Each fee comes from the university’s own website and was checked in October 2026.

Who can apply
You need a bachelor’s degree in a related science or mathematics subject. Each university sets its own minimum marks, which are on its programme page.
Who takes an online M.Sc
- Science graduates who want a master’s degree while keeping their job
- Teachers, and people aiming to become lecturers, who need a postgraduate qualification
- Graduates moving into data and analytics work
The subject changes the price, even at the same university. Chandigarh’s M.Sc in Data Science costs more than its M.Sc in Mathematics, for example, so check the fee for the subject you want.
Does a lower fee mean a weaker degree?
No, provided the university is UGC-DEB entitled. Every Indian university in this table is, apart from O.P. Jindal (JGU), whose online programme pages don’t mention it, so ask JGU to confirm. The entitlement is what makes the degree valid, and the fee has no bearing on it. A higher fee usually pays for a better-known name, a bigger alumni network or a smoother online platform.
