Online MBA eligibility: minimum marks at every university (2026)
An online MBA needs a bachelor's degree and no entrance exam; most universities ask for 50% in graduation, Amity asks for 40%, and five set no minimum.
You need a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university to join an online MBA in India. Most ask for no entrance exam and no work experience. What changes between universities is the minimum percentage they want in graduation, and that only matters if you scored below 50%. The table gives the rule and the total fee at 27 universities, from ₹67,000 at Mangalayatan to ₹3,70,000 at Symbiosis (SSODL). Rules and fees were checked in October 2026.

Rules come from each university’s published eligibility. They can change from one intake to the next, so check again before you apply.
If you scored below 50%
Several universities will still take you:
- No minimum stated: Uttaranchal University, GLA University, VGU Jaipur, LPU, Chandigarh University
- 40%: Amity University, which sets an eligibility test for anyone below 40%
- Reserved categories: most universities that ask for 50% take 45% from SC, ST, OBC and PwD candidates

Other conditions
- Any stream: arts, commerce, science and engineering graduates can all apply.
- Degree length: some universities want a 3-year (10+2+3) bachelor’s degree. If yours was structured differently, ask first.
- No entrance exam: the universities above admit on graduation marks.
- No work experience needed. Symbiosis does charge a lower fee if you have 2+ years of experience.
- Distance or online graduation: a UGC-recognised distance or online bachelor’s degree counts the same as a regular one.
Documents to keep ready
- Class 10 and 12 marksheets
- Graduation marksheets and degree or provisional certificate
- Photo ID such as Aadhaar, and a passport-size photo
- Category certificate, if you are claiming a relaxation
Eligibility questions
Can I do an online MBA with 45% in graduation?
Yes. Pick a university with no stated minimum, such as Uttaranchal University, GLA University or VGU Jaipur. If you belong to a reserved category, many universities that ask for 50% will take 45%.
Is there an entrance exam for an online MBA?
Not at any university in this table. A few, such as Amity, set a short eligibility test if you are below their minimum marks.
Can final-year students apply?
Some universities admit final-year students provisionally and ask for proof of graduation later. This differs between universities, so ask us about the one you have in mind.
