Online BA fees in India 2026: every university compared
Online BA fees at 10 UGC-entitled universities, from ₹40,000 to ₹1,90,000 for three years.
An online BA counts the same as a regular BA for government jobs, competitive exams and a master’s degree, as long as the university is UGC-DEB entitled. What changes from one university to the next is the fee: ₹40,000 at Mangalayatan, and ₹1,90,000 for Amity’s BA in journalism. The table starts with the cheapest. Fees come from each university’s website and were checked in October 2026.

Who can apply
You need to have passed Class 12 from a recognised board. Minimum marks vary by university.
Who usually takes an online BA
- People who passed Class 12 and want a degree while they work
- Government job aspirants who need a graduation degree for SSC, banking or state exams
- Working adults who never finished graduation
Most universities offer English, Political Science, Economics, History, Sociology or Journalism. A specialised BA, such as journalism, can cost more than the general one.
Is a cheap BA worth it?
Yes, as long as the university is UGC-DEB entitled, and every Indian university in this table is. A higher fee doesn’t make the degree more valid. It usually pays for a better-known name, a bigger alumni network or a smoother online platform.
